Sassari

The Sardinian province of Sassari spreads out for 4,281 square kilometres (17.8% of Sardinian territory) and comprises 66 communes, including some of the most beautiful touristic resorts like: Castelsardo, Alghero and Stintino, as well as the island of Asinara. In the province there is the only natural lake of Sardinia, the lake of Baratz, apart from the western part of the Coghinas artificial lake.

  1. Alghero

    Alghero, Sardinia's historic highlight

Alghero in Sardinia looks back nostalgically to an era when it was part of the empire of Aragon. For the visitor it offers the best of both worlds, providing Italian chic in a preserved medieval town. The seafood is also some of the best in the Mediterranean.
