Getting around Provence & Cote d'Azur

Car Hire

The usual car rental companies are well represented at the airports and in the main towns. At Nice airport the car hire zone is located near Terminal 2 across from the P5 car park. There is a free shuttle bus running from Terminal 1. Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Budget all have offices there. Pre-booking (see our car rental page) is essential in high season.

Buses

There is an excellent bus network from the airports. Nice has scheduled services to all other main cities. Schedule of routes here.

Shuttle Buses (Navettes)

Navettes hotels also operate from the airports to airport hotels. There are also a few private airport transfer services available.

Taxis

Airport taxis are regulated by the Prefecture of the relevant French department (i.e. Nice is in the department of Alpes-Maritimes). The taxis have a 3 digit number below the 'Taxi' sign on the roof.
